Greetings, WordPress friends near and far! It has been a long time since I have visited here. And sadly, it will likely be a long time until I return here again.
That is because on August 13, while pitching for my Slo-pitch softball team, I attempted to catch a rather wicked line drive hit right back to me, and instead of recording the out, I recorded a pretty badly shattered left ring finger. “Shattered” is not just me being dramatic, either. It was the actual word used by the ER doc.

This is the picture of the new custom cast made for me by the good folks at the physical therapy place. Pretty snazzy, eh? And yes, I chose Kansas City Chiefs RED very much on purpose. I am not going to include a picture of the X-ray here, however, just in case you are eating breakfast right now.
The injury did not completely incapacitate me, however. I can still type using the two-finger hunt and peck method. It just takes me twice as long as usual to get out even the simplest emails or texts. And since I am right-handed, I have taken to coming up to my office here on the second floor and hand-writing some reflective pages every day. It is a practice suggested by writer Julia Cameron in her book, The Artist’s Way… A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity.

It is a fantastic book I cannot recommend highly enough.
So, for the time being, I will continue to process my thoughts manually for the audience of God and me and keep doing my PT exercises as required. I love reading YOUR stuff, but please understand when I don’t respond very promptly… or at all.
I will sign off now and get back to pondering that age old question again: “Am I getting to be too old for this s***?”
Blessings;
